Empire of the sun live
And not just different people living different lives. I just don’t know if I liked them for this show. But I really enjoyed what I heard. They opened their live set with “Changes”, which showcases an effectively juicy baseline and Luke Steele’s mesmerizing vocals immediately hooking in their audience. I want to preface what I say here, in that I loved their sound.
Their show was a celebration of the band’s enduring legacy and the dedicated fans that longed for their triumphant return of new anthems.

The people where we were on the hill though didn’t seem as into it. But there were some songs in here that slapped. The music was dope as hell. ‘Walking On A Dream’ was another one that got the crowd moving and singing, before the show closed out with ‘Standing on the Shore’, and ‘Alive’.
The crowd vibes for this show were immaculate all night. Unfortunately, we were super late into the venue as Brisbane city traffic kinda sucks.
But during the big songs, there was this almost wholesome unison. It’s the reason I adore bands like Pendulum so much. It was an amazing 80 minutes of music.

Empire blasted through more tunes, like ‘Concert Pitch’, ‘DNA’, and ‘Television’, before Luke really spoke to the crowd for the first time, talking about how his friend from Hawaii was in town and he wanted to bring him out for a few songs.
The duo consists of Nick Littlemore of Pnau and Luke Steele of The Sleepy Jackson.
